AI and multiplayer

What is the secret in getting AI to work in multiplayer games? Currently, if a bot is added, the bot takes over the player's commander (tested with RAI, KAIK just crashes). It used to work.

Also, in a multiplayer game with bots, it is impossible to set the bot starting position. Any work arounds?

it should work, people with eg the chicken AI regularly.
what lobby and game?
Maybe you accidently put AI and human player on same team.
moving to help&bugs since it has nothing to do with AI development..

indeed this should all work (at least using SpringLobby). and as knorke said, you have to put the AI on the same ally-team, but not on the same team. at least that is the most common scenario.
also placing AIs should work fine then, if you do that. use "chose before game start" for game starting positions.

AI works almost brilliant here.
AAI 0.9 and the E2325.something also!
(Though this last did stall/stop moving/attacking after 2 hours of play)

I had this bug where a faulty autohost was messing up player ids or something(?):

Maybe you have something similiar?
-Post the replay (the .sdf files demos\ folder)
-infolog.txt of a failed game
-what lobby and game do you use
Also, in a multiplayer game with bots, it is impossible to set the bot starting position. Any work arounds?
iirc at least in springlobby it works to set startpos to "chose before game" and move the player icons on the map.
