I have not reported that in last version but the behaviour I describe was also happening in last version of spring.
I NEVER had crashes with spring MT but when I alt+tab, the CPU load of spring is 1 proc only (25% with my quaad core).
When I go back ingame, the game start again at the point where I left.
It there a way to make it continue while I am alt+tab ?

Edit: meanwhile, memory of spring.exe is growning (reaching values > Go s for ffa )

Re: Question about MT
Currently not.
The memory usage will grow because the Simulation sends messages to the rendering that have to be stored, because the rendering needs to be active to process them. Minimized application --> no rendering active.
Rendering at a very low frame rate in spite of the app being minimized would be one way to solve the issue.
