Hello, after updating to 84 on windows I was unable to connect to servers and also any instances of spring.exe would not terminate even using taskkill from shell. Only a reboot would end them, for some reason windows was able to kill it on reboot.
This was on 64bit windows 7.
The solution I found was simple although there are some considerations you need to make, firstly if you uninstall while a spring.exe is running then the install wont remove everything.
so in steps.
1.reboot
2.backup maps/games
3.uninstall spring
4.delete:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Spring
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\SpringLobby
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\SpringSettings
5.install spring from the .84 installer
6.copy maps and games back to
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Spring
I think the most important thing to get rid of is probably the .conf files in those roaming folders, you may be able to just delete them and install spring.
anyways I hope that helped someone.
