I can read that also yes.

Is it only that. Chipset? If so maybe we should build a list of cards that have issues with spring eh?

The reason for collecting a list could be that considering infolog can acess the device names. That means spring can. If spring can, the engine can warn the user that their card is too old or at the least known to have issues. saving headaches for the users, the engine devs and people like you and I forb.
