my spring isnt working anymore

my computer went repaired cause it was continously crashing. Later it was find out that it screen ascessor was smeltep:P Anyway after that i was unable to play anymore. This happens when i try to play http://pastebin.com/5HPK0GWv

Based on error I would guess a combination of:

A) Needing to change (update to newer or downgrade to older) drivers
B) Needing to change your quality settings as your ATI graphics card is not supporting some feature you have enabled
C) Gremlins... Nanoscale Gremlins

i have red that prt but i tought there would be some other solution cause this cpu has been built from cpu parts for playing. i should have excellent graphig card and drive. So how to fix that?

You don't need new hardware. You need to update your drivers. Read this, it should help clarify things:

edit: i finded out that my graphig card driver was ATI radeon HD 4800 series. And i should habe best drivers installed already. Are you sure that error message isnt some kind of bug?

Weird with the being unable to open files for writing etc.

If your running Vista or 7 try portable spring and putting it in a non-UAC folder (like your user directory or similar)

It could be a bug, but if it is, it's been the "opinion of the developers" that it's a bug in the ATI drivers and not in spring. If you are windows/programming literate enough to compile the source-code in debug mode and provide them with evidence to the contrary this would help them fix the issue. http://springrts.com/wiki/Building_Spring_on_Windows

Sorry that what I'm about to say might sound antagonistic, please feel free to stop reading now because everything I'm about to say is hear-say a guess-work and does not in any way reflect the official opinion of the Spring developers... I'm a moderator to ensure people don't flame each other, not to ensure that people are provided accurate information.

First off, the basic problem here is that we don't know what's going wrong but people only seem to have this issue with non-NVIDIA video cards.

RE: 1 and 2, this was mostly to point out that you weren't qualified to make statement 3

RE:4 and 5:Just because you THINK that your computer is configured exactly and with precisely the same drivers as before it died doesn't mean it is. And there is no way for you to convince us otherwise.

There is nothing inherently "wrong" with ATI, Intel Mobility and other Video cards and drivers, its just that when OpenGL tries to tell them to do certain things they throw exceptions and things crash.

Let's look at this a different way... given that SPRING hasn't changed and YOUR CARD has... what is the more likely culprit?

Really? so you have the same motherboard with the exact same revision as your old one? From there it dominoes.

It's never exactly the same, only very similar, and that, makes a difference.

Alright, enough about hardware clarifications -- let's fix this guy's problem.

Allu, tell us which version of ATi Catalyst you have You can figure this out by fillowing these instructions:

Right click your desktop, select properties. Click settings, then advanced and there should be an options tab.
Click that and it should say CATALYST version.

Yes you do, but I'm using 9.2 on my HD 4850 so don't make the quick assumption that newer always is better. You have to try different versions until you find something that is working.
