I've never been as "into" Futurama as I was before they cancelled it.. but this is probably still good news based on the episodes I have watched of the new batch.

Hmm, yeah, both, Simpsons and Futurama has gone downhill for quite a long time... only a few good episodes once in a while.

IMHO, They both lack any good plot structuring, usually it follows the same old pattern where they quickly develop an excuse to go somewhere to build up a plot and then bla bla and done. Its totally linear plot from one place to another, and in the end you already forgot the beginning because it has nothing to do with the end.

I've noticed that both, Simpsons and Futurama has taken some influence from Family Guy, small short stupid jokes here and there that doesnt fit in there at all. And i dont like how the characters have developed over the years: Homer is totally brain dead crazy guy who gets random un-controllable mental-illness-rage-bursts-out-of-nothing-just-to-make-it-look-like-it-is-"funny". And Maggie tries to act "funny" too, which just doesnt fit there at all... Maggie was meant to be a side character that doesnt get much attention, not some freaking pre-teen-baby who makes jokes and tries to be funny...

Also Futurama characters have gone a bit more crazy, it just doesnt have the old style anymore...

It is the destiny of any successful series...to go on and on until nothing can be milked form it anymore...
How long both The simposons and futurama have been going on...
It's extremely hard to have the exact same set up after hundreds of episodes and still get new ideas and sources of fun...
You either end the show properly when its awesome or you start slowly moving it and changing it and its characters and usually that ends up being shit...

i didn't even realize; there are new episodes out already that just aren't available on TV in my country

watched two of them last night... man, the "eye-phone" episode was so damned funny, i had to rewind a few times because i missed jokes from loling too hard

yeah simpsons is terrible these days compared to its glorious past. i'd gladly put them off the air for a year to have another season of something else (anyone remembers "the critic" with john lovitz?)
