Current state of affairs

As you might have noticed, BA and all TA related projects except for CA have been removed from subforum listing in forum index. Now I will give Neddie the benefit of doubt and assume that he merely forgot to remove CA (since it is not IP free, not to be confused with zero-k which albeit trying is again by their own admission not IP free, anyway that is not the point of this topic).

The purpose of a subforum listing is small and obscured in the forum index. It is a highly unlikely source of popularity. It is however a way to quickly access subforums that people regularly read.

I see no reason why every project shouldn't be listed for ease of access. It does not take up a lot of space, at most 2-3 extra lines would be added to current length if all projects were listed. The length is small and irrelevant to the look of the entire forum index.

People remember where the subforum link is located in the subforum listing, the order doesn't change so they can always go back to it without hassle. It is a good forum feature and I really can't find any rational reason not to use it.

I realize this is probably a minor problem from someones perspective, but small issues can add up when it comes to favoritism of certain projects over others.

Trust me sunshine, theres a lot more important things that need fixing with BA than that...

To that point, why does BA even need a forum, it's just a bunch of people bawing about stuff that never gets done anyway... well maybe once every chinese new year

I have post that on CA forum and it has been locked:
Hi, I am a noob that visit the forum for the first time and I am looking for more content/discuss_balance of the mod I have fun with : Balanced Annihilation.

Does any one want to indicates me the direct link to it ? Since I am new to this forum, I suppose all the mods are listed in the main page and I will never click on the link project Subforums itself since I assume spring admins of the forum will never hide current most popular content since it is the reason why BA catch players at first who can play other mods then.

I am suprised a mods that do 90% of Spring player database is not listed in the main web page of the forum.

More seriously, people eventullay play other mods after they stick and have fun to one (BA). Decreasing the playing experience by this kind of trick wont do any good to Spring on a long term.

It is like I was starting a advertinsement on the TV with "BMW" and 3 seconds after advertising for a FIAT Panda hopping poeple will stay watching it. After some time, poeple will zap after they see first second of "BMW" advertisement. Sorry for the lame exemple but this is exactmy what it looks like.

Does Neddie still has the benefit of doubt ?

Actually, 80% of change log in last BA comes from balance disscussion and I think some others here agree this has been one of the best change log since a long time and that is the consequance of a lot of threads about balance.

Thanks for your feedback. I anticipated a considerably smaller impact, as did those I consulted prior to making the change. I'll readd the active forums and lock Caydr's for archival purposes. I've just been moving around some of the others in the meantime.

Just to agree with what Regret said above: I do not think the primary function of a link in the main forum index is promotional. Thanks for putting the link back in.
