This was the worst:

Theres one thing i hate the most: impractical stuff thats only on my way.

Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
I LOL'd. Our subways look really tacky if you saw them IRL you wouldn't think they look cool at all.
The other 99% of stations without fancy paint look like a concrete jungle straight out of soviet russia.
This is how most subway stations here actually look like:

wheres that, cheese? doesn't look so bad, the landscape rocks are decent (but its more on the level of the landscaping you'd see at a school rather than an official public works project)
and it would maybe be more efficient to grind up the north koreans and mix them with cement... more cost efficient to have 5 or 6 per column

That's the Telefonplan station about 10 minutes from the central. Ericsson used to have their headquarters there but then moved to:

I guess if you like monolithic concrete complexes Stockholm is the city for you..

stockholm > manila
Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
Actually many stations in russia are extremely lavish, with gold or expensive stone and marble...Cheesecan wrote:I LOL'd. Our subways look really tacky if you saw them IRL you wouldn't think they look cool at all.

Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
all that art and textural roofing is going to be covered with dirt and grime in a few decades it will not be as pretty forever.
Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
No pretty subway stations in us? XDsmoth wrote:all that art and textural roofing is going to be covered with dirt and grime in a few decades it will not be as pretty forever.
Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
It already is actually. There's a lot of algae and stuff growing in some places. Those photographs just don't reveal it. It's also quite dirty. The elevators are often drenched in piss. Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
Doesn't the piss immediately freeze in Finland?

Re: One more reason to envy Sweden
Those are some cool looking subway trains. I've never been on a train unless you count those connecting railways at the airport. We mostly just have interstates, bridges, and you can see some cool looking industrial areas containing petrochemical plants and a lot of neat buildings in some areas. They look like something out of a video game.

We don't have a subway because of all of the underground water systems, and high water table over here. Plus, we're on a huge fault line. I'm should visit a cool railway like the one in Sweden one day.
