Hello,
I've been playing BA Annihilation for few months now and have notice something. Whenever there is a plane flying around on my screen with a exhaust effect, (I mean as if heat was radiating out of the engines) my Frames Per Second drops dramatically. From around 30-20 FPS all the way down to about 8 FPS. This happens even if there is only one plane on the screen.
Other planes without this effect don't affect my games FPS, (Like the tier 1 Arm bomber for example). So Basically, planes like the freedom fighter decrease FPS dramatically, while the thunder bomber do not. My game runs smoothly other wise.
Anyone know a reason for this? Is there anyway to remove this effect? I tied to look on the forums and the spring settings on advance, but I couldn't find the related option for it. Pleaze help, this problem becomes terrible especially during online games. Thanks.

Re: Problem with "Exhaust" effect on planes
In your spring folder there should be a file called lups.cfg, open it up and uncomment the part that says "Distortions = false".

Press f11 while ingame, disable LUPS and Lups manager (by clicking on them to make them turn red)

Ah yes well that is actually easier, although my way will also disable distortions on explosions and such, so potentially there you will have a greater performance boost.
Also make sure your drivers are latest versions. There were some iterations of drivers for my card where distortions lagged like mad, but was fixed recently.
