Smurfing out of reality

I hangout in the lobby as [SoS]FireStorm. I like trying to make a game more than playing, and I haven't played for a very very long time.
The last few months I've become much more active on the forum, and visited the lobby more frequently.

Among a lot of other things I noticed a player "Firestorm88". When I immediately asked if he/she even experienced being confused with me, the player quickly logged out.

I might be extremely cautious in posting this but I feel the victim of some sort of identity theft.
I do mean in the lobby, where smurfing is to easy. (perhaps making a new account is just not enough hassle)

Now I feel I wasn't suspicious enough, and now I think it was someone I used to know, who has been trying to delude me and other people in various ways. Yes, only trying. (If so I would like to say as a last and final effort: "Call them! They care!")

I don't feel responsible for any misconceptions or stupid behaviour by any-other then [SoS]FireStorm. If I'm to blame for something regarding this, it might be acting to slow or maybe even being to naive about it.

As far as I can remember I've only made 3 accounts for playing online, the others being iirc "IceStorm" and "FireStorm_smurf" (when I was somewhere else but forgot to logout at home.)

I realise I might not sound all that credible, but regardless I wanted to express the possibility anyway.
