Relay host has been acting funny.

We have been noticing that the relay host occasionally hickups lag/cpu/not sure what is happening

I can also verify that I have been having problems on the relay hosts. Lag and such.

Main server probably, its really stupid that disk IO lags spring on Linux
I will try to move at least some dedicated server to windows.

I can offload relay hosts, lobby server to my dedi, and buildbot to my cluster...

Worst offender is backuping atm.

Backuping simply lags dedicated servers. It would be much better to change spring to not lag itself on IO load.

what if we set relayhost working directory to a ram drive?

It could work. Or just code it to dump data like demos and infolog on separate non blocking thread? I plan to use demos.

can dump demo into ramfs then copy after game is done

Sure but I bet its simpler to make trivial change in engine than to setup and maintain ramdisk and keep this information in mind when running dedicated server in new places.
