GoldenEye 007 Wii

Post by KDR_11k »

It's like Call of Duty but fun! Somehow they managed to make the game great despite the cash-grabbyness of the name. It's got nice touches like being able to sneak through many parts of the SP game even though you can go in guns blazing, clearing a room without being detected is very satisfying and I don't recall getting options like that in Call of Duty.

Is that actually in the works or would I just share wishful thinking?

The modern Perfect Dark came out some years ago on the XBox 360 since the franchise is owned by Rare and Rare is owned by Microsoft.

The staff that made the old GoldenEye apparently went to Free Radical, now known as Crytek UK, who made the Timesplitters games (and Haze which is best forgotten).

Perfect Dark Zero? That game was pretty cool, one of my first 360 games.

Rare moving to Microsoft from Nintendo is one of the saddest events of the past decade.

Just as the introduction of the Playstation blighted the previous decade.

I thought StarCraft was the blight on that decade.

In the SP it's just ways too much of CallOfDuty esp. because it is a remake of the mighty N64 Goldeneye, the first real stealthy spy FPS. It's not even a bit on the same level as Rare's classic FPSs.

But the multiplayer is really great.

I remember telling the dudes at my local game store that I would never purchase an Xbox because of that. They laughed at me.

To be fair, they haven't made a single good game since Goldeneye, so...

Those were all on 64.

Ah, wait, sorry. I meant "they haven't made a good game since they went to Microsoft." Since N64 era, basically. AFAIK practically none of the original Rare people still work there, they've moved on to less sucky companies.

When will you people learn: Rare is your abusive boyfriend.
Yes, he's awesome and wonderful when things are good... but then he goes and does things like the hoverbike level in Battletoads, the coin challenges and the end bosses in Diddy Kong Racing, and this crap.
If another Rare game comes to my house, I'm calling the police.
