Springlobby Fail

Post by drapoelm »

Hi all,

Total n00b here, so please excuse me if there is a simple solution to this. I got Spring to compile without issue following the instructions in this post:

http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=23455

I can load a map and move my units around, which is pretty cool, but I can't figure out how to actually play the game. For multiplayer, I gather that I need to get springlobby running. Is this also the case if I just want to play one-player mode against AIs?

I did try to get springlobby running, but encountered the following:

Code: Select all

--->  Computing dependencies for springlobby
---> Dependencies to be installed: libtorrent-rasterbar wxWidgets libsdl_mixer smpeg
--->  Building libtorrent-rasterbar
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed
Log for libtorrent-rasterbar is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_daftserver.game-host.org_macports_net_libtorrent-rasterbar/main.log
Error: The following dependencies failed to build: libtorrent-rasterbar wxWidgets libsdl_mixer smpeg
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
To report a bug, see <http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets>
Any help would be much appreciated, as Spring looks like a lot of fun.

You might want to pastebin/attach the log that is indicated in that output.

Solved. The libtorrent-rasterbar needed an upgrade. Let me know if you manage to go any further in the build

Directly running Spring brings a menu were you can pick mod, map, and play 1v1 against any installed external AI. But this gives very limited control, while using a lobby to set up single player games would give you much finer control.

Oh, and for Kernel Panic, I made an ingame menu to set up single player games.
