I think these small things (e.g. the inverted mouse wheel zoom) add up and make spring look odd in the end to newbies.

I also agree with jaz, it'd be cool to get a prettier box.
Maybe even someday a proper menu. (in b4 CA missionaries)
Lol, not trying to insult you, it was just a safeguard against blind fanboyism. CA's menu is nice, but its layout and looks could be improved, it's just not what I was takling about. What I'm mainly referring to is the ability to change things in-game that can't be changed now. Video settings mostly, but there are others, and a more consistent organized look. If you're really looking for suggestions on stuff like that I can be more detailed.CarRepairer wrote:Hobo Joe wrote:Yeah this has been driving me crazy.

You could just give a suggestion instead of a lame remark. What would you like to see in CA's esc menu (assuming you've already tried it)? I value your opinion after all you told me how to set origins in blender.
Pretty much all of them are in the menu. Which ones are you missing?Hobo Joe wrote:Video settings mostly
I agree. This is WIP but right now you can set a few hotkeys in the menu.Hobo Joe wrote:a GUI to set up hotkeys for everything would be great, i.e. a section for actions, and then a section for units, all listed nicely.
Never accidentally popping up an escape menu.oksnoop2 wrote:I'm curious what is the merit of shift esc?
I cant offer an ingame menu but I am currently trying to make springsettings able to modify keybindings:Hobo Joe wrote: Also a GUI to set up hotkeys for everything would be great, i.e. a section for actions, and then a section for units, all listed nicely. You can set this in uikeys but it's a major PITA, not to mention there are a lot of hotkeys that are hardcoded in, so that's a whole different can of worms.
Maybe it could be a configuration option to use Shift+Esc instead of Esc. But I think plain Esc should be the default just to meet average user's expectations.Neddie wrote: Never accidentally popping up an escape menu.
I lol'd at the accuracy of this statement. It's so trueSucky_Lord wrote: Its like trying to slam a slow-close door
You accidentally pressed Esc, moved the mouse to hover over the "quit" icon, and pressed down on the left mouse button.zerver wrote:I have quit the game by mistake at least 20 times, many fine battles ruined, this was why I decided the good old shift-esc was better.
