Desyncing Replays

Post by Jazcash »

Ok at first I thought this was an AI desyncing thing cause I watched a normal replay earlier that day and it was fine. Then later on, I watched a replay of me vs an AI and the replay desynced a couple minutes in. I thought this was a KP or KP AI problem so reported it to zwzsg.

Watch a normal BA replay today and it desynced as well. Tried some more, turns out, every replay I now watch desyncs about 2-3 minutes in :|

There is no actual desyncing message in the console, but it's obvious to tell it's synced properly and then desyncs after a few minutes.

Maybe it's a problem with the replays? Could test this for me: http://replays.adune.nl/?2673 , say whether it desyncs for you or not.

I can't thing what could have triggered it cause I haven't changed Spring version in a long time, or any other important Spring settings or thingys...

Here's an infolog of a replay that desynced whilst I was watching it back: http://pastebin.ca/1913160 Whether it's of any use to you I don't know.

Also, I dunno if it's of any consolation, but I get spammed with "Network Error" as soon as the game ends.

Do you run 0.81.2.0 or 0.81.2.1 ?

Both sync with online play, but one had desyncing AI.

Your infolog says:

Code: Select all

Spring 0.81.2.0 (0.81.2-0-g76e4cf5{@}-cmake{MT}-mingw32MT-Sim)
Build date/time: Feb 22 2010 21:41:47
Mine says:

Code: Select all

Spring 0.81.2.0 (0.81.2-15-g7a9aa2b{0.81-branch}-cmake-mingw32)
Build date/time: Mar 12 2010 16:43:46
Update yer Spring!

Edit: Or maybe it was 0.80.5-37-g25c7158 vs 0.80.5-43-g994d391, now I'm not sure.

It's not my Spring version, I've been using this version for months without any trouble watching replays before. I just can't tell what triggered it. And it's not a problem with the AI.

Weird, I just watched two replays that played back fine, then watched another and it desynced. I'll keep watching replays till I gather more idea of when they desync :P

maybe if you notice desync type DESYNC! into the chat, that will also show up in infolog.

had an issue a while ago with a replay desyncing for everyone when I watched it with other people (hosted with tasclient), but it played fine if we watched it individually
