Maybe Spring Downloader should download Spring

Sounds like a good idea, just remove the bloat and keep it a pure downloader.

I mean since when was it Spring Downloader and Spring Lobby Client and Spring etc etc, I mean if we continue down this path we will be eventually be playing Spring in Spring Downloader.

SD notifies you when there is spring update or if it cannot find spring and shows you download page. If someone makes spring installer in fixed location, it could download and run it no problem, but atm its name and location change each version.

Regarding features - SD is not about features, its about making common tasks as easy as possible for newbies.

How hard would it be to have SD fetch a small text file on your server, and update that file manually with url to Spring installer at each stable deployed release?

Regarding features - SD is not about features, its about making common tasks as easy as possible for newbies.

Installing/upgrading spring is something newbies usually have to do.

Simple, but im not always online. Its simplest if latest official version of spring installer is in some fixed position. That way as soon as it detects new version on server it can get the installer.
Tasserver also allows to push files, but im not sure its used.

Tobi has access to all server. For all this to work, archive has to be a bit special too - contain just engine components and not configuration files or lobbies to overwrite.
So someone has to create/maintain such thing.
