Well this is new project about starcraft. I'm just pissed off a bit with news about sc 2 and its concepts make me sad - they're lost original atmosphere so [censored] starcraft 2, we will make one. Now about the deal. There is already every 3d model and texture in warcraft 3 custom files for starcraft.

conversion takes little time, but some pain in ass.
I can make maps, fast and not bad

(watch green fields v3 and 4 bases v3), make 3d models, somehow make textures, but i need cob/lua coder because i just too lazy for understanding coding in it. :oops:
So this will be new project that will done in 1-1,5 months (i mean alpha of it)..of course if i had to find good coder :D

What about special abilities?burrowing...you need a lot of lua me thinks..

Well kinda yeah. Burrowing...hm... i need to think about a bit. Last time i planned make only terrans and protoss but dat was only for map...this idea was fail so yeah, why not.

Uh oh...i have a bad news - hiveworkshop.com failed 1 hour ago so i dunno how i can dl any starcraft stuff from it. =\ i think its just maintenance so don't panic..DON'T PANIC...AAAAAAAA!!!!!! :lol:

Heh...textures look so low res though :) fits right into spring..
will u be doing zoom out restriction?
and limit amount of unit available to be selected?how about not allowing multiple buildings to be selected?

+1 to this idea... ive seen a starcraft mod discussion on here before, but not including pre-existing units. by effectively cutting artists out of the creative process, you save a ton of time.

+1 to rubbing it in blizzards face.

gota : although those things would probably be crucial to an "authentic" SC experience, it might be cool to just go with the spring limitations rather than imposing his own... a true test of whether that -required- micro that SC fanatics go on and on about can make or break a game in terms of fun

+1, it will get shut down quite quickly, if it catches on. Starcraft clone, with new art, would be fine. Actual Starcraft designs, no.

Well, actually i can do next thing. Rename it - on the internet there is Transfusion project - remake of blood 1 on quake 1 engine:

So, they just changed title and not breaking copyrights (because before it just called something like qblood). Hm...

Now about limitations. Fck them. 200 units limit it's ass. This was just because sc engine can't take more than 1600 units in one time (8 players 200 units each). About designs - well, think about china's car clones for a sec - this buildings don't fully look like original, so like china's Toyota clones. :D and all is fine. Of course identical models will be redesigned but still i want to make more complete clone with ripoff of original history..but maybe in alter-universe. So this will be fanfiction project.

Three races
Terrans (i think its oblivious and they just can't sad that its their idea. Terra - earth - terran - earth Inhabitant)
Zeranyds. (mixing from long holywar about WH40k-starcraft rips)
And Proballots. (Ehh...there is lol - Pro Toss - Pro ballot. Looks same. But we are changing the emphasis on the letter O so - ProballOts)
The creators of all this mess will be...hehehe
Xel-Mur'guls. (Xel naga - naga owns mur'gul slaves in warcraft 3)
hm....to be honest i'm planning make 4 races playable...but... eh...I'm also thinks about orcs. :D But its just idea. I dunno will be it done or whatever.

its quinda funny

i had the same idea a loong while back couple years ago

but it was about using the models to create not a starcraft duplicate

but a spring mod that would add TA flavour to a starcraft based mod

imo you can try imitate starcraft gameplay yes, no law suit for that, but dont name stuff or make races equal to starcraft or youll get a nasty letter
and why make a mod that is worse than starcraft II no point in that.............
btw here is some work i did on that mod ............

And also - starcraft its ripoff of warhammer 40k so :twisted: i can make some more unit clones, yep and name that are not copyrighted like - lurker, firebat, medic, command center, barracks, hive and other will be not changed - they are not copyrighted.
