Intermittant bug causes game to crash on startup

Hi,

I'm getting an intermittent bug when a game starts using Spring Downloader.

It seems quite random, I don't know what's triggering it. Basically the resolution changes to 1024x768 like it should, but the loading screen doesn't come up and the mouse is stuck to a little black/grey rectangle in the upper left of screen, just sitting there on top of the Spring Downloader lobby. I have to alt-f4 out or use task manager to quit it.

The real problem is that when i try to rejoin the game, it either a) tries to connect to the game but times out or b) more often Spring starts but crashes out to a pop-up window saying "Username invalid" and quoting my name as "Nasum_" instead of "Nasum".

This bug is intermittent and may only happen one every 3-4 games.

OS: Vista 32-bit
RAM: 4GB
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570
CPU: Intel T6500 Core2Duo
Spring: 0.81.2.1 (latest)

This infolog looks like a 20 minutes long game that ended in a normal quit.

Heh, yes it seems it does It happened just before i posted here and again, it doesn't register on the infolog. Naturally I have no idea what that means, but i can tell you the game did not start and i ended up with that stupid grey rectangle near the top-left corner of the screen.

I take it you haven't come across this bug elsewhere?
