Composer searches for work

Post by RaT »

Hallo!

My Name is Ramon and I'm new in this forum (my English is not the best, so excuse possible faults). I come from Germany and I'm studying Filmmusiccomposition. My aim is to create the music for PC and Video games sometime. The next hours I will read me through this forum to get as much information as possible.

The reason I'm writing this text is that in my opinion, the quality of your open source game projects should not be reduced by music that does not fit to your game. I want to compose genre fixed music matching to your game. This will cause that you have some good, individual music in your games, I get more experiences in this m├®tier (which directly lead to better compositions ;) ) and we all will have more fun by creating games :)

I hope you have some work for me. If you want to, I can upload some of my compositions (mostly they aren't finished because I had no concrete aim to compose to).

Greetings,

RaT

hi and welcome,

there were some try to do this (e.g. werdo), but it would be good to get a fitting epic soundtrack :). btw are you also able to make small soundsamples (e.g. for starting plane, shooting,...)?

I'm not exactly able to create sounds, but my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) has a lot of sounds like this. Maybe they fit into the games.

I completely agree with fitting music being an essential part of the gameplay experience. I would love to hear some of your previous work!

Ok I uploaded some of my former compositions

You will recognize that the sample quality is really bad. But this is going to change soon. I bought East West Symphonic Orchestra samples yesterday. Hope they will send it to me fast. When it arrives the sound quality will increase enormously.

Information to the songs:
1. Forget the names, they are all project names and will change If the Songs are finish
2. None of these Songs is finished yet. They haven't even finished the composition-stage.

"alpha_20", "flute legato" and "klezmer" are songs I made, I guess 5 years ago with an absolutely noob-tool. So there is no expression in the instruments. Of course, the samples are bad, too. But you can get an idea of what I wanted to create, I think.
"brunettilike" is an song idea I recorder after I saw the series Brunetti.
I recorded "drunken pirate" after I played the game Ceville. There is a scene on a beach with a pirate and an ape. I loved the scenery so I started to create that song ;)
"english ship to orient" is the newest of these compositions. I tried to tell a story within that song (an English ship is sealing to the orient, to fight against the natives and create a colony). I like it very much and when the new samples arrive I try to complete the composition soon.

EDIT: I forget to tell you sth about "Ein Dank". In real, this is my newest composition. It was part of my semester-exam (I got 97%). I tried to create a picture of someone sayin "thanks" to somebody. A hug or sth like that. I love this song, although it is really short. I'm trying to create a 3-5 minutes song out of this piece right now.

I have much more compositions, but they are all made with the noobie-tool I had before, and I simply hate its sound ;)

Hope you enjoy,

greets,

RaT
