Re: Screenshots - Why .png?
it used to be default jpg, it got changed to png because tons of people were using the jpg screenshots to report about graphic glitches, and the jpg artifacts were making pretty hard to spot them

Re: Screenshots - Why .png?
Do you want your UI to be garbled in screenshots? There's good reason to not default to jpg.

Ironically if you want to continue with this stupidity you will have to use some kind of image format.Forboding Angel wrote:..

Re: Screenshots - Why .png?
PNG is the best image format for general use if you want lossless quality.

Googlefrog is referring to the fact that you reached the limit of quote nesting (3) and anyone who would want to further quote the quotes would have to fake it by using a screenshot of the nested quotes. Screenshot.. get it?Forboding Angel wrote:What's your deal?Google_Frog wrote:Ironically if you want to continue with this stupidity you will have to use some kind of image format.Forboding Angel wrote:..
Re: Screenshots - Why .png?
i prefer PNG because you probably edit the images afterwards, and you dont want to double or triple compress it... (some sites may re-compress your images if you upload them). PNG is best for storing them, i always have PNG copy of any image i make, so i can edit it infinite amount of times.
Re: Screenshots - Why .png?
I love png because it is the default editing format for fireworks <3 and it also keeps the transparency of images rather than ruining them by turning them into squares with fugly white backgrounds. It always has the best quality and can be imported into pretty much everything with no problems.
