TAS Client - SpringSkin

Post by Jazcash »

So here's the Spring styled skin I actually finished a while ago but never got around to properly releasing. It's not how I personally would have made it look with all possible designer options, however the skinning app has limits, such as not being able to skin scrollbars and such.

It's based as you might have guessed, around the colours of the Spring logo, whilst also being eye friendly.

Attached in the .rar, are also the rank icons and the connectionstate icons along with the script needed to use them.

There are also some colours applied to the skin but whether they will function properly is unknown :P When I tried it, they didn't always apply correctly but I'll try and get that fixed for next release.

Simply just download the .rar, unpack it with WinRar, open the folder and copy paste all the contents into your C:/ProgramFiles/Spring/Lobby/Python/Scripts directory.

Then open up TAS Client, and go to Lobby Options, then to the skins tab and click the "Load Skin" button. Select the SpringSkin.skn file in the Scripts directory you just unpacked it into.

It should be applied straight away but it may not load fully until you restart the client so a restart is recommended

This is by no means the final release and now the Skin editor has image support, expect a better release to come.

Feedback is appreciated and suggestions are welcome.

The scrollbars in that screenshot are from my Windows 7 Theme. So no, can't change scrollbars.

I really don't understand this color combination.
Carrot with dark teal and dark blue?
IMO if you really want orange there I suggest makeing it gentler.
In general I think a two color skin would be better than a three colored skin.

For minimal changes Id just turn the orange into a slightly lighter version of the dark teal,it would also contrast better with the channel names.

I think its pretty. Dont like higher rank icons of yours...
Maybe you could also calm down the color scheme a bit. It's a bit aggressive. Change from cold blue and orange to warmer. Decrease the saturation a bit. Paint the colors of textboxes to some other color than white. Maybe very light blue like pastel blue or warm gray...
