Re: where the feck are:
No, I made that sprite among others when I was working on a top-down alien shooter many, many years ago, and this one seemed to fit me.

The game is called Bugaboo. It was the hardest game I ever saw back in C64 days, but it was so awesome that I tried anyways.Caydr wrote:HOLY CRAP NEDDIE IS THAT AVATAR FROM THE COMMODORE 64 GAME WHERE YOU'RE LIKE A SPIDER OR SOMETHING AND YOU'RE IN THIS CAVE OR SOMETHING AND THERE'S LEDGES AND ON BOTH SIDES ARE DEATHPITS AND THIS SUMMABITCH FLYING THING KEEPS KILLING YOU? Re: where the feck are:
As someone in the army, aren't you bothered by the rather unrealistic way MW treats soldiers?
Just asking, because for example if I was a race car driver I think I would probably roll my eyes very obviously if someone challenged me to a game of DIRT.

Re: where the feck are:
how do they depict them then?
Re: where the feck are:
Sorry about that, I thought I would be able to sneak in that ninja edit. Specifically the way that fighting is presented as something that a child could do, where you run around shooting people like some kind of... well, action hero.Caydr wrote:As someone in the army, aren't you bothered by the rather unrealistic way MW treats soldiers?

I wouldn't ask but I don't often get the opportunity to speak with someone who is an actual soldier.
Re: where the feck are:
Well if anything, i find it pretty funny that some of the things i've been taught can be directly transferred into the game, which is pretty cool.
Also any movie/game IS still fantasy, so im cool with people deflecting 12.7mm rounds coming at them for 2000m/s with plastic shields or not dying to frag grenades because they have a welder's mask on, as long as the core of the game is in the warfare related stuffshooting shit, achieving objectives and being the god of the game for a minute with the ac130

Re: where the feck are:
i should probs make a post on how to improve yourself in mw2, but that'll have to wait for my next vacation since i gotta head back in ~30 mins.
Also caydr im not a real soldier (ie someone running around iraq getting their legs shot off by ied's) but a conscript in a country that's been in peace for the past 60 years, and my service is only ~360 days , out of which i have now 180 left.

Re: where the feck are:
also triple posting is cool for someone forgetting there's a fucking edit button in this forum~~
Re: where the feck are:
Ohhh I see. Sometimes I think a mandatory military service period would be tremendously good for a country, even if it was only a few weeks or months. Teach people what hardship really is, and then they don't piss and moan about life being so unfair when they couldn't make it to the Blink 182 concert.
My totally l33t FPS skills come from my figuring out three basic things:
A) Crouch, and you'll be able to hit that guy.
B) Holding down the fire button results in inaccuracy.
C) Not dying is the fastest way to a high score.
