Can't install TA Spring RTS

Hi,

After downloading the installer and running it, the installation dialogue appears as expected.

As it opens, it has the set path to where its going to install. This is the desired path. I click next and once I do, it begins to install for a few seconds then stops and says it cannot install to a folder in Drive M. Drive M is my external hard-drive I plugged in long time ago only once to transfer documents. I didn't set it to install to my external hard drive I set it to Drive D. Thinking Drive D could be causing the problem I set it to Drive C, same problem.

Does anybody know what's the problem and how to fix it?

The folder named "big computer" in my external drive has no
relevancy. It was just a folder in the external drive to differentiate what files are from my desktop and laptop.

I attached a picture of what I originally set my drive to and the error.

I also attached a picture of all my drives in "My Computer".

You could try installing spring somewhere else, or download the portable archive which doesn't need installation.

I tried installing it to a different drive.

But I never tried the portable archive version, it seems like a good idea.

I really appreciate it, I have a feeling it will work as no installation is required.

Hi, I got a similar problem once, but not with the installer it was the engine itself. In the middle of the game it popped an error box telling me Spring can not read drive F (F is my dvd), pressed ok went back in game, and after a minute or so the message again. I had a fedora boot DVD in the drive at that time so I ejected it, but the error was still popping up, the only way to make it stop was to restart the game.

I thought mine would come up in the "Safely remove hardware" thing.


All right, happy that it was all downloaded WinZip couldn't extract, I was like OK. So I decided to use WinRar to do it, it keeps crashing! ARGHH. I know this isn't a Spring related issue, but I was wondering if anyone knows a decompressing program I could use.

It sounds like your operating system is corupt, reinstall it and try again.

there is a space reserved for your external harddisk, while it is not there.
I agree to petah: your system is corrupt. Perhaps you should consider a reinstall of your OS? That would (very likely) be a way to solve all your problems (and perhaps future ones as well)

am i the only one who noticed there is no M: in your computer ?

when you right click on "my documents" do you have the right path ?

i think it's just that hard drives are separated from the rest of the devices not a "reserved space"

It looks like %userprofile% is set to M:\Big Computer\ rather than C:\Documents and Settings\username\
