Hi, as it is, my moddeling skills SUX. I can make a low polly somthing but spring can use nice high polly moddels. So i was wondering if anyonew out there would like to make me a few moddels?
Basicly, I need some purple crystal spires. Think like the crystals you get in StarCraft (please dont slate me for useing that word) but purpleishblack in colour. Around 300 pollys would probablie be ok, and maybe two different moddles. Also, try not to use to many different textures, as it needs to be able to fit in the texture limet thingy.
If anyones intrested, please respond! (there must be someone!)

I had this AWSOME idea for a map... but alas, i can not build it till we have features. Think rocks of frozen hydrogen that litter the map and explode when shot. Add to that low light conditions, Near Zero gravity, and a lot of metal and we have a inhospitable map. Im not sure if this is possible, but can there be meteor showers in maps? I remember them from OTA, but that might of been a hallucination.

The point is that, if you get the right files (it's like a treasure hunt) you CAN have features... it should show up officially in the next release, not sure how one interacts with features at this point because they are being implemented like wrecks instead of neutral units...
Exploding features should be simple. Just give them a low armor tolerance and make them have a large explosion weapon (yes, explosions are weapons too!). I personally hope meteors stay out of the game, though. They make the game far too random for my liking (a game should be decided by skill, not you getting lucky because your enemy's fusion was blown up by a meteor shower).
True.
See my map is a planetoid in a very slow orbit around a colapsar, making it very cold. The thing is basically a hunk of very pure metal with massive amounts of frozen hydrogen caked over many parts of it. One problem, its orbit is slowly decaying, and in twenty five years it will fall into the colapsar, and be lost to both the ARM and the CORE. So there arm... er.... MINING expeditions are sent out.

There is a few web sites dedicated to game making. I guess we could easily get some modelers help in those sites...
It is terribly frustrating to be artist for games that never move forward or that do not allow the artist to do great stuff. People from those forums would probably feel confident towards this project since it is already very stable, good, full of features, with lots of potencial and in strong development.
I know from Happypenguin.org that there is a few of those sites, although i don't remember any or have any bookmarked.
If you guys would go around sending some invitations in they're forums, we could get great aditions to the developing force.
Remember that what most non-professional artists fear is that they're work ends up in nothing. But Spring is here for good with lots of potencial for them. So, maybe they just need to know that Spring exists and how good it is.

Wait, i never said the people already here cant! We have loads of talent already here! thats what i ment! I, and Im sure others, dont want to suddenly have the whole graphics aspect of the game handed over to a bunch of borred graphics artist who may very well never have played TA befor, and wont understand why we cant give the peewee 6 legs and things like that. Besides I was just wondering if one person would do me one favor!
So, anyone going to help me out?? I'm sure this is like a 20 min job...

I knocked up three spires quickly. They are very quick throw togethers, if you like them I could probably do something more detailed.
I used this image mostly for inspiration, as opposed to your firmly geometric image:

- smaller spire

- medium sized spire

- Large spire (you may notice I reused the small and medium spires at its base)
Anyway, let me know if you like them and want any more.
Here are the current spires:

rhino 2 format; untextured.
