Forum rules wrote: 4. Backseat moderation will not be allowed to bring threads off topic. Comments like "why isn't this thread locked yet?" or "we don't allow your type in this community" are not acceptable, they slime the thread creator and undermine forum moderation. Discussions about relevant moderator actions or rules and policies are allowed provided they do not throw threads off topic or are done with excessive rudeness. We want to know how we can improve the way we moderate or things that we have missed, and we don't want to be flamed any more then anyone else.
Hence I'm discussing what particular rule did this thread break:
http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21086

As stated by maackey it is against the rules, when it clearly is stated in rules that such discussions are allowed.

If the issue is with the posters in the thread that may have been disrespectful then they should be moderated, not the OP.

Yes plz i was wondering why it was locked myself.
Also Maackey what i meant by silly posts was people making silly suggestions cause they dont know better and others jumping on them flaming just cause they posted something silly.
So i was saying that there is no benefit to allowing people to vent on these silly posts instead they should just be left ignored.
So if you see a silly post ignore it dont start flaming dragging everyone to a flamewar.
If someone cant ignore it his message should be moderated.

Maackey:Silly does not equal crude, abusive, offensive etc...
Obviously you do not moderate bad suggestion, unless,as a moderator, you deem a certain bad suggestion to also be offensive.
Its better to over moderate a bit especially if the suspected offender has a history of bad posts.

This is a prime example of what I was talking about -_-

I will however, unlock the previous thread as long as it remains productive and helpful.
