Do you get swine flu vaccination?

I just wonder, are you getting vaccination in your country?

Here (Czech Republic) pandemic plans are still active and as vaccines arrive people are divided into priority groups:
- doctors are receiving vaccination now
- then people with respiratory and hearth diseases
- then infrastructure workers (energy, water, communications, transportation)
- then rest of the population

I just wonder is it same in other countries?

Here in the United States, we have the freedom to refuse bullshit vaccines that we don't believe in. I subscribe to natural health practices. The chances of me dying if I contract a flu virus are effectively zero. Swine flu is no worse than any other the flavor of the season.

Fear is that in the winter it might hit hard and even if it kills just a little more than normal flu, it can hurt economy by disabling too many people.

Btw just for reference .. Spannish flu that killed over 20 millions people started same way too.. it was mild in spring and summer killing almost nobody and then it started to be evil in winter.

It depends of what mutation it is obviously..
if it changes outer structure that antibodies bind to.. then yes..

But if it changes other things like replication rate (which would make it more dangerous) it will still be covered by vaccine..

It can also become more severe illness without any changes in virus itself (just through interaction with other viruses in circulation for example).


Atm. there is no selective pressure for virus to change its outer structure, because not many people are vaccinated...

I personally believe that flu vaccines are fucking our species up. Eventually if it continues our immune system will evolve to become dependant on artificial involvement and in the long run make viruses that can evolve resistances to vaccines become more dangerous. I haven't had a flu vaccine since grade school.

On the flipside, when I do get the flu, I get it hard. Heart palpatations, hallucinations, etc.
