Music player software
Okay I'm getting tired fo using winamp, its getting a little clunky.
Windows Media Player would be okayish but everytime it gets updated they make the UI more fiddly, and it has a habit of being uber slow for no apparent reason. There's a lot of formats it can play yet refuses to play them for no reason, such as DVDs, giving silly reasons for it that are obviously lies.
Itunes does what it does okay, but there are lots of annoyances and things it doesn't do. Like I want to be able to show only 1 artists music like I cna in all the other programs, and play a single song. I don't want to have to go through ym entire library un-checking things so I cna have what I want and what I only want on my iphone.
So are there any good media players for windows? Cookies if you find one that also works under OS X (not bothered if its windows only). Last.fm support would be nice too.

Re: Music player software
spotify! oh wait, you dont live in the uk, no free music for you :)
Re: Music player software
VLC has no working media library to speak of. Under Vista x64 and OS X 10.5/10.6 it only lists recent played items, and the entire list is cleared once the program is closed.
Its great at playing music files, but as a library it sucks balls.
Spotify works but has other issues, not to mention no offline playing unless you pay, not to mention it isnt really a mediaplayer but a streaming tool

Re: Music player software
personally i've tried amarok, banshee, and rhythmbox (however all of these are on linux so i don't know if they run anywhere else.
also, they all look more or less the same to me (howver banshee seemse to be good at keeping all media: videos, music, podcasts, etc.)
amarok looks weird. but i only used it once so :D

Foobar :) If you have loads of music, its very nice. Its extremely quick, light on RAM and CPU usage, and is pretty much endlessly customisable with plugins and if you want you can code your own ui.
Basic (built in ) UI:

Something some guy (with bad taste) has coded for himself :

or..

:)

foobar2000 is pretty good, not perfect but i use the default user interface and it does everything i want it to - easy library access, plays pretty much everything, has an ipod plugin

Re: Music player software
Just get some funky skins for Winamp. There are hundreds of them.
