Higher zoom out (just a bit)

Post by TradeMark »

when i zoom as much out as i can, it shows the map in same zoom as TAB does, but! usually when i zoom out that much, it doesnt show whole map, and i need to change my position... but most annoying is that the UI elements are on the map, so i need to move again to see under them.

just double the max height

bugfix:

Code: Select all

maxheight *= 2;
can someone implement? pls ^^

Edit: also in TAB view the UI elements are on the way, which is highly annoying sometimes... sure i could press F5, but i want to see chat too, and click stuff etc...

Your code is messy and difficult to follow. It is totally substandard. Please go back and revise. You have one month.

So that at the fourteenth frame, the maxheight is over nine thousand and rising?

Can we get a camera fix for the standard ota camera so that when you zoom out it slowly centers and eventually reaches the same state as if you have clicked tab?

wouldnt that be super annoying when playing?

what would be cool, although mostly for screenshots/movies is a way to change the FOV to be able to really "zoom in." At the moment you do not zoom but really move the camera closer to the ground. Something like /fov 20 as quake/half life does it.

Why would you want to see more of the area outside the map?

so i dont need to move by keyboard to see the full map if i apparently zoom out from some else position than exactly in middle of the map

That is exactly what i offered to solve.
Instead of the camera just zooming out tons it should move towards the center while zooming out and finally showing all the map when fully zoomed out as if you pressed tab.

It's very convenient.
It zooms out and centers so you always see the part of the map your zooming out of.
It zooms out normally until it reaches the edge of the map on one of the sides than it zooms out only towards the other edges.
You always see what your zooming out of,you don't see much of the blank area outside the map and you can by just zooming out see the entire map without having to press anything else.

i didnt even read / understand. because, i dont need that shit, what ever it is? :d just make maxheight *= 2 and it will be just fine.

i move in the game by using mousewheel to zoom out/in. if you start to move it towards the middle of the map the higher zoom i make, then its just total failure and fucks up my camera movement on the map

no need for other features, just adjust this one variable 2x bigger... or even better: remove whole maxheight limit!

All this because you don't want to use EdgeScroll?

Heh, no.

It would be logical to be able to set custom max zoom-out level.
