To try and get more ubuntu members over to spring i made this post a long time ago now (2006):

I updated it a bit today to reflect the newer guides, wiki pages and such, if anyone has anything else to add or wanted to change please let me know!

i had a short look at it, and my suggestions, in order of importance (from 1=low to 5=very low ):

1. explain how to start SpringLobby, eg:
Applications - Games - SpringLobby

2. Mention that spring is Open-Source, and nearly everything is customizable.. i can imagine this to be a pro for linux users, while it probably is more of a contra to windows users.

3. in your last post, add a link to the first post, if that is possible.

4. replace all instances of http://taspring.clan-sy.com with http://springrts.com

5. Maybe make 2 or 3 screenshots visible directly in your first post, in addition to the link.

Added all your suggestions :) apart from number 3 since all people have to do is click the "1" for go to the first page. If they can't do that they really shouldn't be on a forum! Heh.

Attaching them is easier and shows the attachment symbol in the forum list.

my idea was that the readers see the images right when they open your thread, and do not have to click first. i can not see why attaching is better then having them behind a link, but it does not really hurt either.

good job! i hope we now get more ubuntu users!
