Looks really good, nice terrain texturing!
Only the skybox could use some attention, it seems really low-res

I swear, that's what Scottland looks like if you just make the mountains a bit sharper.

I honestly don`t know, I guess there isn`t enough of the right green for trees
in the map texture, allthough I got grass in just the right places..
I used L3DT to render this map, it took a lot of frustrating attempts and some crappy maps to come up with a preset that outputs a decent looking "and playable" terrain, if anyone wants it here is the "presets.ini" from my install of L3DT, unzip it to the presets folder in the L3DT directory,,
""\Program Files\L3DT\presets"" let winzip overwrite the existing copy, Start L3DT go new map - design/inflate - chose a size, click next - in design map paramaters select "preffered" from the drop down list of available presets, click load and "ok".http://www.mufdvr.222clan.com/Presets.zip

Are those the clouds or mountains in the distance of the skybox?

I'd love to see mountains off into the distance of the skybox...

How about "Highlands" or "The Highlands" for a name?

Hey Muffy... Could you go and tell me what color gave you grass? Cuz I've tried damned near everything...

By reading the mapconv source (reading in the loosest possible sense of the word) I correctly guessed that 10-13-10 (RGB, damned near black) gives trees (Green has to be 125%, or better, than both red and blue). But at 10-11-10, no grass- which requires 107%>...

Who made that fabulous grass&trees-onna-metalmap version of mapconv?

I had a Great idea for a map.

Map name: Mini-Mini-Spring
Map Desc: Due to a freak accedent, the mighty army's of the CORE and the ARM have been shrunk to miniscule sizes and been mistaken for Action Figure's by some guy. Now, ontop of a massive over turned monitor, you must send air plane's to the mouse and keybord to gather presiou's plastics, and combat the enemy on a sea of liquid Crystal's.

The map mould have a monitor, flat on its back, where the liquid crystle display will be ACTAUL liquid and be the central lake. The side's of the monitor will be land, while massive drops make going to the keybord and mouse impossible to travel to without air power. Some CD's are scattered around and provide more metal. No Geothermal power, cuase that's just plain stuipid! The Sky Box would be the rest of the room, wall and need's a slightly out of focuse Evil Dead II poster, preferably this one:

Image

In case anyone wondered, this is MY desk, and Evil Dead II is my favoret movie ever. Expecialy the part where Ash, the main charicter, has to cut off his possesed hand. THen his hand keep's on trying to kill him. Ash retrun's the favour, with a twelve gauge double barrel shotgun!

I really don`t know why I got grass and not trees, I just loaded the map up that first time and thought,, cool :o
Here is a tiny piece of the map source texture .bmp , the area circled has grass in game,, maybe you or someone else here can shed some light on why.http://www.mufdvr.222clan.com/Crop.zip

Hey thanks for that. Unfortunately it doesnt get me any closer! I even pasted that bmp into my texture bmp, and still no dice. The second I bring the green channel over 125% of the red / blue, I get trees... I never get no friggin grass! You lucky! heh...

This is so fricken wierd :?

Hum, zoombie, that was already done in OTA's 'micromachines' maps, and it has even been suggested before already by me, in a number of different threads, including the insect war thread, which you yourself posted in :P
