would be nice if AI's pregame loading stuff could be included in the loading screen rather than once the map is visible and just lagging the screen for 20 seconds while it does it's metal searching stuff.

so after pathfinding and such, give AIs (fixed) some time to do their stuff with loading screen updates before starting the game?

Gadgets load well before you get ingame.

i think he means Skirmish AIs, not Lua AIs. They do load after the count-down.
I agree that this would be nicer... its just boring work to do and test all AIs if they still wokr this way and if not adjust ;-)
i do not see big problems for this in general.
..and of course, that is somehting that falls in my area...
maybe i will do it one day...
would be happy if someone else does it ;-)

He's just being a troublemaker by editing out "and gadgets" after I replied.

not trying to cause trouble, just didn't see the need of making another post to correct. hence i removed it and replaced it with fixed.
i wasn't aware how the gadgets loaded, it was a silly assumption. my appologies.

The issue is you didn't properly mark fixed. Parentheses don't make it show that that has been changed, [fixed] would have worked, but [fixed - not gadgets] would have been best. Shouldn't be hard to make AIs load earlier, but what to do about current AIs that think they're ingame?

yeah, that coudl cause problems.. and as this could be time consuming, and the final outcome is not very rewarding...
is why i wont hurry with doing this.

NTai was one such AI however I remember removing a section of code pertaining to this, so this should no longer be the case.

f the other working or major AIs, all are being updated or maintained so feel free to add another callout e.g. 'preload' or 'pre-init'
