Usually the only time I play spring with other people is when my friends come over, but we run into multiple problems with playing with a lobby.
Is there any way to run a game over lan. I have already tried the the lobby server on the official download page, but it didn't work. Also I cannot find AFLan server, which the wiki says to use.
Anyone know how I can make lan play a reality?

Re: Spring over lan
we always used this:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/dl/TASServer_035.exe
run this on one pc, all other players enter the ip of this computer when connecting (replace the spring.syclan.blabla.com with 192.168xxxx)
that always worked, not sure if anything has changed?
what didnt work? the server.exe is suppossed to just show that little black window with some "player connected" messages. thats all..

Re: Spring over lan
Thats what ive tried, but all I get is a lot of messages saying that it cant find files and then a listening for connections and no way to imput anything. Are you saying that we need to use the command console to connect to the pc running the TASServer? Also this most recent try of TASServer resulted in error messages and it quickly shutting down.knorke wrote:we always used this:

Edit: Also, how do you pick the map, mod, and other options with this method?
P.S. this is on Windows.
Re: Spring over lan
You use tasclient or springlobby to connect to it, just like normal multiplayer.
Re: Spring over lan
how exactly do you connect with a lobby. I don't see an option or a game that looks like its being hosted by TASLan.lurker wrote:You use tasclient or springlobby to connect to it, just like normal multiplayer.

Re: Spring over lan
On your 'log on' panel theres a serve settings you and click and bring out a menu, go down to 'local', then type in the ip. and then come back and bitch some more, when it doesn't work
Re: Spring over lan
Alright I've got it working, for Spring Lobby all you have to do is type in the ip of the computer running TASServer to connect to it.
Thanks for all the help.
