Greetings all,
I am new to SPRING (but long time advocate of totala) learning the ways of the engine, but because I currently have access to slow, wireless internet I can't really play online. So I am trying to learn the tricks of the trade through SP...
..however, curiously, when I try to play a SP game through the SpringSP.exe that I d/l (or when I try to play single through tasclient.exe), when I try to start a game after setting it up in the skirmish lobby a black screen comes up, saying it is 'trying to connect to server', with a count-up timer that 'disconnects' me after 60 seconds and returns me to the skirmish lobby. Below that text it says server is "localhost: 8452" and "local endpoint: UDP port 0 auto", or something to that extent. When I run single player through spring.exe, I do not have this problem, and I can get a game running, but I can't choose any settings for the game. Does anyone know a work-around so that I can get a sp game working through the skirmish lobby, either using springsp.exe or the TAS client? I have tried it with the mods Uberhack and Complete Annihilation.
Thanks!

Re: SP game trying to connect to server?
I don't know much about the connection problems (others here can help) but for now, perhaps try springlobby which also has a single player button.

Yep, Springlobby got it working like a charm. Thanks!

I have hads the same problem.
What you got to do is to start TASclient.exe, register an account and log in. Then a message will pop up saying a new update to TASclient is availible. That update fixes the problem (at least in my situation it did)
