Building on fedora 10 AMD64

Post by matzeri »

There is any specific requirement for the allegro libraries or for
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 ?

Linking CXX executable spring
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_is_cpuid_supported'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_is_486'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_get_cpuid_info'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_cx_w'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_cx_r'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_is_cyrix'
/usr/lib64/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined reference to `_i_is_fpu'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [rts/spring] Error 1
make[1]: *** [rts/CMakeFiles/spring.dir/all] Error 2

the library seems the latest stable
$ rpm -qa |grep allegro
allegro-devel-4.2.2-10.fc10
allegro-4.2.2-10.fc10

Thanks

spring does not depend on allegro. this is probably a bug in fedora, most likely the devil package.

you could also try to build with the help of the source package provided by mycae:

spring does not need allegro but devil needs it at least on openSUSE.
Without allegro in devil spring does not compile.

http://springlobby.info/ source are fine for springs.

while springlobby is probably incomplete in the spec file

No translations found for springlobby in /home/pub/rpm/redhat/BUILDROOT/springlobby-0.0.1.10372-2.fc10.i386
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.O24SvT (%install)

built.

Someone need the x86_64 RPMS for fedora10 ?

spring-0.78.2.1-2.fc10.x86_64.rpm
spring-debug-0.78.2.1-2.fc10.x86_64.rpm
springlobby-0.0.1.10423-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
springlobby-debuginfo-0.0.1.10423-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm

A minimal README document should be added to the spring
package to know where put mods and maps.
The various FAQ seems to not cover the first roadblack
:-(

I found the "Maps & Mods" at
http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Mandriva_install
very useful for start.

i would gladly mirror those packages so they're all available from the same place.
if you're interested / willing to continue updating them i would give ftp access so you can do that w/o my help.

uploaded on

I am not sure if does make sense to make regular build,
as I can not play :-(

Do you know if my graphics card is too old ?
RV280 [Radeon 9200 PRO] (Secondary) [1002:5940]

hmm, i wasn't aware you had problems playing. Did you disable shadows, shaders, etc. in springsettings already? i got a rv350 based card that works well enough

i've mirrored your packages and added them to http://springlobby.info/wiki/springlobby/Fedora10
hope i got everything right. feel free to edit otherwise.
