Immobilebuilders / where to get

Post by kipale »

There's that immobilebuilders script that everyone seems to use. Now where the heck do I get that too? In spring downloader i got a bunch of good scripts and also installed smartnanos which is supposed to be a better version of immobilebuilders, but I'd still like to try out the real thing. They say the script comes with spring? Without smartnanos script my nanos won't do a shit if not told to so I guess they just lied...

I believe it's included in BA, it's also on spring downloader widgets list and AFAIK it's enabled by default.
Might be conflicting with smartnanos though.
In one version (or at one time in SD), "idleFrames" is set to 0, which means if you tell the nanos to do something, they will stop auto working.
Change it to 30, and they will carry on patroling after they have finished the task you give them.
idleFrames = 30

Keep in mind that that includes you giving them a stop order, they go back to patrolling in 1 second. It's possible to make the widget only ignore them if you hit stop, that's worth looking into...

But it's definitely included when you first install spring.

yeah i modified it so when i stop them they do not continue to work but smart nanos widget take over(repair reclaim, but dont assist). Together it works perfecty.. it could be merged in one widget though.

And yeah, immobile builders is a must have :)

Hmm... I found unit_immobile_buider.lua at my installation/luaui/widgets... but I'm still sure it wasn't on before smartnanos. How do I turn these things on/off? It isn't on the widgets list on my spring downloader.

Btw I got another thing... I never see fog of war on the map. Is that normal? I mean I don't see enemies and radar blobs show just fine and all but the ground outside my line of sight isn't greyed out or something. Should it? Should I just reinstall spring alltogether?

SD only shows SD widgets. Press L if you want fog of war, and then ; toggles between showing only los or los+radar+jamming in different colors.

Sounds nice, but how can you tell them to continue assissting?

Press F11 ingame to turn widgets on/off. Make sure SmartNanons are disabled when enabling ImmobileBuilders.

Simple select them and give em patrol order few cm apart. Works like patrol order from witget.

No thats not right. Stop should make them patrol, and if you are stalling, then press Wait. Wait is such a useful command that no one uses.

That would mean you dont need ImmobileBuilders widget at all then do you?

It's still valuable to put them on roam, and by that I mean, isn't the engine implementation of maneuver vs. roam broken for nanos?

Do i look like i want to manually set on patrol those 50 nanos i make every game? LOL NOT ;)

About WAIT command: i dont like it, i still want nanos to repair and reclaim stuff, just not spend E on assiting when my base is assulted by 100 zippers (happens a lot these day, they are op as never :| )

Allright thank you everyone, I got everything working now. Well except that my scandinavian keyboard doesn't have a ";"-key so I'll have to remap keys just for that... Isn't spring made by scandinavians? One would think they would have thought about the keys... But that's very minor so I'll probably just forget about it.

Isn't spring made by programmers? They kind of need the ";"-key
