StartPoint Edit in TASClient Multiplayer

Post by R-TEAM »

Hi,

first -> I like TASClient more than Springlobby. So i need this function
in TASClient.

Second -> The "SinglePlayer" GUI is horrible [the art is fine - the buttons
are horrible] and i am VERY fine with starting TASServer [win Java version - running
nice ;) ] and connecting to localhost and change all setings comfortable with
the VERY nice multiplayer TASClient GUI - it is easy and intuitiv - a 1A GUI !.
So the only thing i miss is to edit startpoints!
For single gaming and for multiplayer battles with bots.

Hi,

O.K. .. with the end of TASClient developing my request become senseles ;)

But i musst say the actual springlobby get better with every relase so
it is not more soooo bad .. but i liked the simple TASClient gui still more ..

What i miss actual in springlobby ->

By single player to get for the human player "set start position ingame"
By multiplayer to mix "set position ingame" for human players and defined
startpositions for the bot(s).

spring only supports game-wide options, so it's either the host chosing start positions for everybody or allow everybody ( including AIs ) chose their own positions ingame, not mixed

so this becomes an engine feature request

Hi,

but the AI DONT chose ther position - he get the predefined by his player
number [by an game with 2 human he get number 3 and start always from predefined
position Nr.3]

IMHO i dont know to get an bot to another position [pos 5 or 7].
Only if i select all positions in springlobby then i can control the bot startpoint.
But this is bad for human players ...

You have two options.
1. Give each bot a small starting box, which is pretty much choosing its position. If you don't give it a box it has the whole map to choose from!
2. Add code to the AI so that it chooses a position by itself.

to 2. -> dont need to go such deep in spring
to 1. -> mhh ... my i try this.Last time i try this (with TASClient) nothing happen - so maybe with springlobby it works.
(this was the reason i dont get a startbox for the AI in the testgame,
thinked no working)
