cant play on dell mini

Hi guys;

I installed springs and now im trying to play with Balanced ANnihilation. I have a Dell Mini 9.

However when i try to run a game it says could not set video mode: no video mode large enough for 1024x768.

My dell has a max 1024x600, as it is one of the new netbooks and they are coming with this res.

Any help?

Use the settings tool to set the resolution manually to the one your monitor supports.

Though honestly, I don't understand why you're trying to run a resource hungry game on a puny netbook. Don't expect it to be playable.

Yup, I tried it on my Acer Aspire One... It worked, but was sooo slow. Try TA on it, runs perfectly +1

I got spring workig on Asus EEE PC, and surprisingly the performance wasnt so bad, 15 fps and little cpu lag on 4 vs 4 DSD BA.

About a week ago I tried to install spring on dell mini 9, the linux version of it, and I couldnt even play in a single player, the game runs at 1 fps at 0.3 rate. I strongly doubt that WinXP version will be any better.

(I was also surprised to find that ASUS EEE does beautifully fast blender renders)


Either way, it is possible to get it working, and even playable, but from my experience Dell minis are not there yet.
