Re: mp3>midi
there are several out there, maek google!
Re: mp3>midi
I did, it's all 30 secs trail or something, or it doesn't work.
Re: mp3>midi
I think this is a very hard task. A wav or mp3 represents the raw waveform to be created by the speakers. A midi file contains a set of instructions for instument x to play note y at a certain time. So the problem is similar to that of voice recognition (though I guess at least it's not real-time).

hi,
use besweet (e.g. in a pack with gordian knot)

Re: mp3>midi
Can besweet transcode from wav/mp3 to midi?
Re: mp3>midi
In theory if it's not too complex you can use Fourier analysis to figure out which notes are being played. The more stuff you have going on the more difficult it's going to be and the exact timing of notes is quite difficult to determine. If you have a MIDI compatible keyboard to play it on there are programs which can capture from that, and if you have the sheet music it shouldn't be hard to sequence it yourself. Even if you get a program to automatically capture though you'll still need to clean up the timing by hand. I've used a MIDI capture program before but not for a very long time so I'm afraid I can't provide any actual programs unfortunately.

like. voice. recognition. but. you're. speaking. in. a. monotone. making. it. much. simpler. to. distinguish. the. notes. of. a. single. instrument.

Re: mp3>midi
Did you think about people you know who have solid music skills ? That could be a good way to make wav/mp3 > mid conversion.
Don't laugh, I'm serious.

The piece that I want to translate is pretty long, don't think anyone will want to.Masure wrote:Did you think about people you know who have solid music skills ? That could be a good way to make wav/mp3 > mid conversion.

Re: mp3>midi
No. I know it's possible, and I know that midi is a set of instructions instead of sound waves like a .wav/.mp3, it's just that I can't find the right program. Those who said that a program couldn't translate wave > midi are right. You're done...

I know that they exist because I have used them before, but it was a long long time ago unfortunately

Re: mp3>midi
I haven't tried this application, but the title sounds like what you're looking for. I suspect that it doesn't work well for most musical instruments but since your file is just piano it might be worth a try.
Audio to midi converter
You'll also need to download Octave since the converter is apparently an Octave plugin. Good luck.

Re: mp3>midi
eh I downloaded both, but I have no clue of how to use it, there's nothing like an executable or something. (yes I extracted it:P)
