It looks good with the new laser, I think.

But it will be a bit easier to guess where the laser turret is if you cant see it!!

interesting, I'm guessing those are the new beam lasers, where instead of a bolt of energy being sent and continuos line that is suddenly there then not there like a proper laser?

I hope you are right. I would dislike having a laser like those you know from Earth 2160 where it stays!

What would also be interesting is the sound effect... Would it be of equal volume all along the beam?

I thought of a coooooooooooooooool defensive idea! Laser Grids. You build a post and it fire's lasers to every other post it can, creating a deadly array of lasers. They should also go up and connect with floating Laser pods that can cause the laser net to cut down nukes, planes and (if your lucky) LRPC shots too!

LRPC has the repulsor...

it would be nice to take out missiles though. :)

*edit*
Here's a video of the Annihilator weapon turned beamlaser :)

My interface goes on and off because I was trying to get rid of it AND fire, didn't work like that.

As the other one is on a different topic, I'll just put my questions here.
How exactly does it do the damage? eg. divided out over duration of the beam with a certain number of events, etc.
Can we adjust the width? That would be cool for various reasons...

I can't wait to use this, so cool.

Looks cool ... but if the damage is instant and constant, doesn't that mean that you've created a constantly firing, always-hitting Annihilator ?

PS: Buggi, your avatar ... that Marathon ?

It's an outdated Aeon logo from Supreme Commander.

I hope this is optional -- Star Wars lasers don't work that way ;)

On that note, can we have a laser opacity and width tag in weapon tdfs, as well as working duration? That way we can precisely control the size, shape, color, and transparency of the laser without needing to recompile the engine and run into other issues...

The bigger curved bit went right around on the marathon logo thing.

Cobra, I'm well aware of that *points to screen name* but Buggi could've taken artistic license.

I hope it's done with new weapon tags, and that it doesn't change old lasers.

yes, beem is much better than bolts, but some mods like SWTA would still need to use a bolt laser weapon

I thought for 5 seconds, guessed, and discovered that the tag is "laserbeam=1". I'm betting you'll want to remove "beamlaser" from your weapon if it has it, being two different weapon styles and all.
