Mines, dragons teeth and other...

Post by MDV »

What about mines with such style?
Image
They are very simple. Maybe, make them more complex?
I think that they are very small and that's why don't need large textures.
Usually making 1 such mine takes 10-15 minutes as maximum.)))

And dragons:

If he'll upload them first:)

And the dt needs some work, make it less bright, and do something about the edges.

A uvmapped DT already exists, I am not sure why they do not use it.

Heh... But I have already downloaded it.
Link.
My mini-mini-texture is made nooby way, you'll see it when open it in Photoshop. But in game it looks normally.

As for brightness. Screen from another map:

Yeah, it's really bright, but Dragons Teeth must be bright, they must reflect laser, plasma and other...

As for mines, I'm making some new now... 512x512 is enough for them, I think.

A 512x512 for 1 mine is wayyyyyy too much.

It looks better when you look at scaled mine. For small not scaled mine 64x64 is enough. Make textures smaller isn't a trouble.)))

Yeah, I was just saying, that 512x512 for a mine is unnecacary memory wastage and isn't really better than 128x128 or 64x64.

dragons teeth are meant to emulate tank traps which are not armored or whatever they are just cheap impediments to slow/stop tank movements.

512 for a mine is ridiculously wasteful.

transports are ment to transport allied forced but seems in the future they found out they could aswell be of use to transport other things.

Some new:

First (looks like Necrons' building ))) ) is Anti-air Energy Focusing Mine. It fires with thick ray and then self-destructs. Second one is Drones Squad (Huge Range Mine): when enemy is near drones take off and make kamikaze.
So, the hardest part is scripts, but I know how make it.
Nuclear Mine is next.
