Request for Lobbies: More ModOption Controls/Forms

Post by REVENGE »

Currently, modoptions only let you do very basic style drop down forms, or manually entering values. It would be nice if we could have more stuff like radio buttons, checkboxes, color picker forms, and most importantly, a way to define map coordinates: points, boxes, circles, etc.

I don't so much want mod options for boxes and stuff but radio buttons & sliderbars would be fabulous.

radio button = combobox, just the style differs, sliders and number are the same too but you can't enter value with sliders, it could use both but it would take more room

Battlehub uses both sliders and number controls side by side synced up for items that have a numeric scale such as energy and metal, I think that this really depends on the lobby client being used.

luaoptions now have a 'section' option to make group of options with a title

and im going to add a 'style' option for later use, will be a string to make the lobby display the options the way you want, will just need a standardized syntax

Please don't make the same mistakes over and over again

You have a thread discussing the syntax of the style attribute to start, please don't go and define it on your own.

This. That's a lobby-developer decision.

The new Sections feature is something I'm looking forwards to.

I know this satirik but we have number boxes and not sliders.

As an aside, it'd be nice if you could set spring to remember certain preferences (say, icon distance, or selected widgets) between mod instances, not just between spring instances.

Well, the purpose of me starting this thread was really just to demand that I get to place some custom points/boxes/circles on the map in order to pass those coordinates to gadgets. I mean otherwise, ctf for example currently has to use a couple of workarounds to get positions for flags. Same with KDR's KoTH, which uses set control points for known maps, or geo positions. It'd make a lot more sense if we could have the option to set those manually.
