ah, the fate.
yes, there is a fate, and you cant prevent that to be happen.
you can not change your destiny. just accept that.

Re: Future Intentions 2008
It doesnt matters if your fate is pre-written or not because future is something that cannot be observed winhout being altered :)

Re: Future Intentions 2008
There is no point in believing in fate.
If fate exists, you don't actually have a choice whether to believe in fate or not. Furthermore, believing in fate wouldn't help you, since all events would be fated anyhow.
If fate doesn't exist, it's better not to believe that it does.

Re: Future Intentions 2008
Fate does exist, because since the universe is commanded by logical laws everthing can be foreseen if you have the information and processing ability. I know there are some sub-atomic particles that act at randow but its likely that they dont really act at randow, its just that we didnt found out what laws control then yet.

Re: Future Intentions 2008
That's debatable. According to Wikipedia, only a minority of physicists believe in a hidden variable theory.
Furthermore, any predictive computer would itself have to be part of the universe, and thus any calculation it made would affect the universe and itself. How would you make it predict the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation on its prediction of the effect of its calculation...
Furthermore, how would you make it run faster than real time?
Furthermore, even if you could, what if you simply did the opposite of its prediction, thus rendering its prediction invalid?
In any case, your argument does not give any reason to believe in fate.

manored: didn't take any quantum computing classes, did you? ^^
Re: Future Intentions 2008
Well that computer would have to be outside the universe while somehow still seeing everthing thats going on inside it :)
Teories change, you cant take any as absolute. I personally think that there are is no randow, just hiden information that forces you to consider it randow.
