New Unit Ideas?
This is just brainstorming thread for modders. Describe a new unit, name it if you can, tell what mod it would fit in, and explain how this unit could change the course of gameplay for their respective mods. Please don't give worthless contributions like OMG LETS GIVE FLASH TANK DGUN AND JUGG HEALTH KTHXLOL.
I'll provide an example:
Unit Name: Chimera
Mod: *A
Functions: The Chimera does not possess its own weapon: instead, it possess a variety of hardpoints that allow it to "copy" the weapons systems of other units, and mount them on its hardpoints. For example, it has a turret point that can mount weapons such as the Flash's EMG cannon or the Morty's plasma weapon. It has a missile pod that can launch a Defender missile, a Samson missile, etc. Finally, it has another turret point that only mounts laser weapons, be it from the AK, an HLT, or the Sumo. Weapons can be copied from both friendly/enemy units, dead or alive. Using lua, give it an interface that shows what weapon is mounted on which point, and allows you to copy a weapon from a unit to that point. Copy time can be calculated from either a unit's build time or a weapon's dps/impulse/range/etc. You can limit the Chimera to only being able to copy weapons of higher damage after it reaches a certain rank (veterancy). It can also possess stealth, cloak, etc, maybe even copy those abilities to an "extras" hardpoint.

1) The only *A mod that would ever incorporate something that crazy would be CA, at a stretch.

Kustorion will have that possible, but it will have generic hardpoints to which any weapon could be attached(Zpock suggests that I have separate categories)!
Here is my unit Idea(that will be added to Kustorion):
Unit Name: Spearhead
Mod: Any
Functions: Fighter plane that not only shoots with a weapon but uses itself as a melee weapon impacting enemy air units and receiving a minor damage from the collision due to the plane's design.

along time ago, in a engine not spring; i wanted to make an Unicron. It floats around and for a weapon it just picks up enemy units into its transport hold and can not release them. seems kind of unbalanced, but eh.

- An APC. Picks up t1 kbots and undloads them right infront of the enemy.
- The surfboard from CA only bigger. Kinda like a carrier but on its deck you place arty units.
- A Flash that has 2(two) Dguns and is really fast.

I will machine gun a few unit ideas off.
Land based transport / trojan horse = unit that you put kbots inside and then fling / lob / kamikazee into the other base and then the units inside come running out crying HAVOC !
Corrupter / enrager type unit..
Enrage an enemy and make it attack own team for a short period.
Could use this on the gremlin.
Starcraft terran style satelite thingo = The one that lets you see a part of the map for a short period of time without having to send something over there.
Decoy Krogoth !
Airlift kbots with paratrooper style.
Ie dont have to set down the units to offload them, they can have sexy parachutes. = excelent for com bombing
Freeze tank - freezes stuff instead of emp , and then can enemy can be shattered / would have slower movement.
Steam roller - runs over kbots
Propaganda radio tower - spews out propaganda, I dont know what it could be used for.. but it would be cool.
Propaganda bomber - bombs leaflets over enemy, these leaflets do something cool..
Mole - something that can bury itself underground and move un detected / burrow under enemies porc.

Propaganda ? The war has been raging for more than four thousand years. You don't let yourself be convinced by the ennemy after four thousand years of war (thus the name of OTA)

CA's flea / hermit unit (buildable by concept factory) fits the mole specification. I like the trojan horse idea. I can imagine some sort of metal pod that loads units then gets flung by a catapult in the direction of the enemies base with horrific inaccuracy, rolls to a stop and the dazed units inside clamber out...

It'd be interesting to see a super-unit that kicks the usual trends and is instead:
1) Small
2) Cloakable
3) Armed only with a few paralyzers
4) Capable of capture and ressurection at high speed
Send it into battle (or the aftermath of one) and turn your enemies armies against them!
