free (simple)textures(like metal), are they needed?

well, if it is needed i could post some simple metal patterns and maybe more so, do we need it?

I just google for overlay photos of real metal and scale it to the texture size, works fine and adds some color variation too.

i just use patterns from fireworks and gimp
