Dual monitors in Ubuntu
Is there any way to set up spring with dual monitors? I have my main 1680x1050 and an extra 1024x768 that I would like to use to display the minimap while I'm playing. I used nvidia-settings to set the monitors up in dual for Gnome, but when I use the "Dual screens" setting in spring it just splits my primary monitor down the middle. If I recall it does the same thing in windows.
Re: Dual monitors in Ubuntu
You can't use two of different resolutions inside spring, but if you prefer to have different resolutions for your regular desktop (and same for spring) I can explain how to set it up.
Re: Dual monitors in Ubuntu
What do you mean by "and same for spring"? Are you saying that if I had two monitors of the same resolution the minimap would be on one and the regular screen on the other?
Re: Dual monitors in Ubuntu
Yes, but spring only tolerates same resolution because it splits the overall window in half.
Re: Dual monitors in Ubuntu
I've got two 1280x1024 monitors side by side, and rather than checking the dual-screen mode in Spring Settings, I just set the overall resolution to 2560x1024. It gives the normal mini-map in the upper left corner, and shows a wider field of view with no distortion. You can view more map at once that way. The mini-map is resizable, so you could make it as big or small as you like.
