O_O is Ace suggesting himself as a reviewer?! thats cool, i vote for him!
the more reviewers we have the better!
ok i dont have such great replay
i dont have the skill for such a great game... (YET!
)
but will contribute with a nice small replay instead.
ITS v 41b1 so.. you have to do a separate install if you want to see it.
Viewing it in the actual or another version of Spring generates funny replay instead.
(the replay generated in v 51b1 is not bad, but ITS NOT the original game.)
Azure rampant is the map. 1v1
im hope Tsumari will spare me for posting this
we where much more noobs there :D
e: replay compatability is not bad idea. maybe its not that hard to do.
a better solution would be non changing replay format, wich is tied to development.

All right! I'm on to it.Min3mat wrote:If someone posted a good game (involving rushing, raiding, and interesting strategys NOT PORCING) on XTA ... i will admit there is nothing wrong with xta ...
What kind of replay you want? Something fast like crushing a newbie with rushing? Or something a little more slow, like sufocating an enemy player to death in it's base? (or the enemy sufocating me

As for something longer, like a very late game with Krogoths and stuff, do not count me in to deliver something of quality as my willpower breaks after some 60 mins of play...
i want a game with at least one player who is good rushing his enemy, raiding him often, expanding rapidly, building armies of lvl1 before going to lvl2.
Paul if you give me a good xta replay i will review it and ask someone to give your name a tag- GOD coz all xta i have played watch is like 2-4 noobs slugging it out with small armies of lvl2 and large amounts of defenses, and hell not all player can even porc properly...:S

I'd like to see a good XTA recording too. Almost all the XTA games I've seen or played in go like this "build some stuff, but don't attack much cause defenses are too strong" until "first gollie is built and wipes everything". Or else the same thing on a larger scale with Mr. K instead of gollies. Actually that's not quite true - I did see an excellent 3v3 game on Redhaven with SJ, SHINTAR and others where there was fighting throughout. Though it has to be said that the game did indeed end with Mr. K (eight of 'em if I remember rightly). It would be nice to see a game like that, which wasn't ended by "mega-units" like this, but just by good gameplay.Min3mat wrote:i want a game with at least one player who is good rushing his enemy, raiding him often, expanding rapidly, building armies of lvl1 before going to lvl2.
e.g. I've yet to see anybody use LRPCs effectively.

In good ol' classic TA, we used to limit the number of energy-creating units we could build. No fusions, no ships with huge reactors - the largest source of energy income was geo-plants. Made the game into a hunt for geoplats, and since you needed to expand to be able to get energy you couldn't just sit and build defences while throwing up yet another fusion. And no, it didn't make the games longer - just more interesting.
Me and Silvertool played a lot of XTA with the swedes. However after a while we get fed up with how cowardly games were played. Therefore in our last games we only rushed and rushed like crazy, which is actually VERY well possible in XTA. I think however that I threw the demo away. I'll ask silver, it was really a nice game.
I would try and play a game like this, but it's nearly impossible to find a host.
I have an idea of my own. Min3mat, I've noticed that you are able to host games, so you should not have to much trouble getting one up. What if you played a game of XTA and rushed, raided, and used interesting tactics? You would be able to raid as well as you knew how to (so you are not stuck watching a game where the players 'raid' by sending in a single flash), and you would be able to prove to everyone that you can easily raid in XTA.
