Flaming goes here!

Not really fond of the orange shine effect, the red gradient or the round corners... the logo itself is alright.

Yeah, the glow is a bit much. It kinda makes me think 'Orange Box' every time I see it.

Should be a bit less glaring but it's definitely an improvement - less blur, more sharpness...

I think the glare will be more subtle, and less like a retina scan, when the image isn't so large.

+1 This thread was absolutely meant to be a discussion of AF's character.

Hmm, it looks nice and contemporary, but I wish we could have something that evokes spring's character more, rather than some conventional square+lettering stuff that looks like an Adobe logo for Mac products.

see also the svg version, which can be changed into your new logo with a more or less single click of a button. it lives somewhere in svn.

I've been fiddling with Illustrator, so devising an SVG format version shouldn't be that hard, I'm just working in photoshop right now because its more familiar.

Having said that what I have at the moment is half raster half vector and getting rid of that raster and putting all vector shouldn't be too hard. One thing Im finding a little issue is perfectly replicating the outer glow on the sun in Illustrator since where photoshop has 6 or 7 control illustrator has only a blur field.

I've started work on the other icons, they're not the same as the old one and they're not exactly the same style as the images on my blog post, you'll all understand when I make the new post. Vista users may be happy to know the new icons have full 256x256 png icon support.

At the time of writing I've remade the spring.exe icon, settings, the NSIS installer side banner, and made a brand new installer icon. All the new artwork goes well with the new website ( which you guys might want to checkout, all is not as it was when it was introduced, again expect a blog post about it ).

I don't really care for the drop shadow as it forces it's self. would prefer in the future a psd in the future where I can disable the shadow.

Let's see a version with bloom so that it reflects the future of Spring's ingame look too! :-)
