moderation issues.

Post by Gota »

Det muted me.
Why? the reason he gave was trolling.
It went down like this:
we were talking about lua and i said i dont like it.
Det than insulted me saying i dont like it cause my gods andy and day dont Oo....aaaaanyway...i than replied that that is not true and cant be true for many reasons and than clarified that what i meant is that I dont like lua used for things like the turret range and widgets that specifies certain a building's location and soon, and do like lua like the formation gadget.
we than enetered an argument cause of the atmosphere he created with his remark and in the proccess he muted me.
there was no real reason to mute me and he infact should have muted himself if anyone for just insulting me for no apparant reason.

but nvm that.
The thing is that he also evidently put me into his ignore list and the only one that can unmute me is him cause that is the policiy or whatever.
What kind of a moderator behaves like this?if this is called good moderating than im a neo-nazi.
I have been muted for about 3 days,he hasnt responded to my PMs so im guessing im in his ignore list,he might claim now that i wasnt but i pmed him several times.
He did not reply to expalin himself and didnt even say something like buzz off or i cant talk right now or leave me alone etc..

this is in #ca right

moderators can't help in private channels

however iirc your initial mute was pretty low but you proceeded to mute dodge soooo

it is kind of bad for moderators to have an ignore list imo though

I don't need to justify my mute. This is the private #ca channel and it has nothing to do with me being a moderator or not. I originally didn't even act as a moderator. I used ChanServ to !mute you, just like any other user would. Later, you decided to evade my mute on another smurf ([COM]XII) and give your "independent" viewpoint about how right "BasiC" was and how wrong I was. It was then that I used my moderation powers to place an IP mute on you for #ca. Also, I don't have anyone on my ignore list. I just choose not to have a lengthy argument with you about your mute (again). You have forced my response with this thread. Fine. Here you have it: I have no intention of unmuting you in the foreseeable future. Please don't expect any further explanations from me.

Just to clarify, the mute is #ca only, correct?

Ah, the lovely old Yan trick of using a smurf account to "second" his ideas. Fortunately he seems to be way too stupid to pull that off successfully.

the reason for my sadness is the length of the mute. it is clearly unfair to everyone involved. clearly it should be 3 month not 3 day please correct this grave injustice immediately

I wasnt trying to trick anyone that was the only way i could say anything.
In all cases when i used another user i never hid my intention or my identity, you all see what you want to see,i cant fight that.
Your mute,Det,was not justified, you muted me just cause you felt like it.
Yea i dodged your mute cause it was unjustified and i knew noobdy will do anything about it anyway so I entered with another user which everybody knows,at least those that are in the lobby often,is my second account.
I wonder what do people expect me to do when im muted permnantly from a channel without any real reason and the guy who muted me is acting like a child and ignoring me.
I made several requests from other moderators and they said they cant do anything so i was left with this choice.

That was a very sinical use of your administrative rights.
Just admit it that you muted me out of your hurt ego or cause you didnt like my opinion and unmute me.

Gota,

Det can do whatever he damn well pleases inside #ca. It's a private channel. He can mute you because he doesn't like your hair if he wants, as can any other moderator of any other private channel.

Come back when you have a legit complaint, like being muted in #main and NOT dodging it.

Dead wrong. This is a use of det's channel op rights. He has them for being on the CA dev team. Moderators won't do anything about it because the people on the op list in #ca can do whatever they please in #ca. Would you have gone bugging random moderators to unmute you or be calling it a 'moderation issue' if I had been the one to !mute you in #ca?

Again, private channels do not fall under moderator jurisdiction; det was acting as a channel operator, which is entirely his own business. You can be muted in a private channel for any reason, as the channel belongs to its ops and not the public community. However, dodging a channel operator's actions can incur moderative actions, repeat mute dodging in someone's channel can constitute harassment and bring forth a ban.

I'd lock this but it'll probably be unlocked when I'm not looking....also you posted in the wrong forum, there is a game lobby forum for a reason.

STFU and go away? People have the right to exclude trolls from their private channels and battles.

Don't bring subcommunity drama into our forums. Ever. Thank you.

This is a CA issue, deal with it within CA communication channels.
