I'm being asked almost on a daily basis by various people about AI development, how to build AIs, where to get them from, what the AIs do, how they work, how to make them work, and so on.
There is no central place with all this information, no how to threads or articles, at best a ragtag of posts on thsi forum spread across 2 years of threads.
So I'm going to be writing such a set of articles as blog posts on darkstars, starting with this general introduction:

It does nto go into any specifics but it should work as an introduction to the various AI interfaces. People with a knowledge of C++ and some of springs innards may find this useful but ideally this is aimed at a more general audience and covering as much as I can. Anything not overed do tell me but keep in mind this is a series not a one off.

I'm looking forward to the next articles, as once Spring:1944 is more or less complete as far as gameplay features, I'll be writing an AI for it. It will be awesome to have much of the necessary information in one place! The current state of the AI interface "documentation" is, to put it nicely, less than ideal...
