Missing cursor in install

Post by Albatross »

Seems like theres an odd bug with the installer. When I do a fresh install of v0.76 for some reason it doesn't install the cursor (a message pops up saying "missing default cursor" when I try to play spring). Installing it over an install of v0.75b works fine though.

Um, if you unchecked the default content stuff, that might cause that problem.

However, with P.U.R.E., that shouldn't happen, it has its own files, and calls no Spring stuff as a dependency...

Nope everything installed except the maps and mods, because UF is down. The mods and maps I was using were are all 0.76 compatible. Worked okay once I droped the content from the P.U.R.E .zip into the main to replace the cursors.
I reinstalled it, redownloaded it, tried reinstalling it to a different place, found an old copy of a test build for 75b that used the new installer, didn't work either. The old installer worked fine and the game runs perfectly once you reinstall over it. Must be something to do with the new installer. Or maybe it's just Vista.

It installs the TA base content along with TA mods, so yes, that is your problem. But there are plenty of installer mirrors running, and completely unrelated to uf.

This is probably related to the following:
LordMatt wrote:This actually doesn't have anything to do with UF, but rather the fact that I (was) running the redirect script for the installer on my home machine, and then my IP changed after some thunderstorm induced downtime. We only intended the redirect to run on my machine temporarily while the spring server was moved, however fnordia and I both forgot it was running. I have notified him and this problem will hopefully be fixed soon. For now, you can download the files directly from the mirrors:

Sorry for the inconvenience.
